Dundaga unspun yarn has not undergone the traditional spinning process. The cakes are created from wool fibers that have been washed, carded, and dyed, but not yet twisted into a tightly wound thread. The result is that the product is incredibly soft, lofty, and plush. 
Each cake is wound with two unplied strands of yarn, giving you the option to knit with either one strand for a sport-DK gauge, or both strands for an aran-chunky gauge. In contrast to the fragility of the yarn, the fabric it knits into is hard-wearing, soft and incredibly warm.
